Ice Fishing & Black Bear Observation
Hello my name is Charles Dufour and I am the owner and operator of Peche Blanche Lac St Jean. (Peche Blanche, is the Quebec expression for Ice Fishing) I have been guiding fishing, hunting and wildlife watching trips for more than 10 years. My mission is to make sure my clients are 110% satisfied with every trip.
Ice Fishing in Lake St Jean, Québec.
We fish for walleye, pike, perch, trout and a few other species can be caught on occasion. Fishing is done with tip-ups, tip-downs and jigging. I have 6 hardside cabins on the lake on average with plenty of seating and heat. I also have portable cabins for some trips. Most trips are on Lake St Jean but we do fish other lakes on occasion for brook trout / speckled trout.
Prices for ice fishing are per person.
$80 per person min. of 2
$70 per person group of 3
$65 per person, groups of 4 or more.
Prices include tax.
Ice fishing includes; professional guide for the day, heated cabin on ice, all fishing tackle and bait, sonar unit, transportation by snowmachine to fishing area, and cleaning of your catch!
What you need; food and drinks for your day on the ice, WARM CLOTHES, and fishing licenses. You need 2 licenses to fish lac st jean, 1. A quebec fishing license and 2. A permit to access lac st jean for the purpose of ice fishing. The 2 licenses combined are approximately $20 per day for a short 1-3 day trip. Licenses are available 24/7 at the Irving station in the village of Chambord. The Irving is located at the intersection of quebec highways 155 and 169. We meet in the area of the marina in the city of Roberval Quebec, just off highway 169. I will give you an address upon request as not all trips leave the exact same location.
Hotels are available close to the fishing grounds. Manoir Roberval and Chateau Roberval are just 2 of many. Look at the page here called Hebergements for more choices.

I speak English at about 70% or so. If you only speak English the best way to contact me is by email or text to my phone. I can read the English and respond in English better than we can have a conversation over a scratchy phone connection in english. We can speak english on the ice while I teach you about the fishing we have.
Additional things you can bring if you wish are a snowmobile helmet for the ride out, I provide helmets but maybe your own is a better fit. Also your own jigging rods are welcome if you have a favorite. A medium-heavy action with superbraid line and a 15lb. leader is a good start. Don't forget your camera!
I hope to meet you soon, Charles
